At the June BOD meeting, the Board adopted a comprehensive policy on enforcing the ban on overnight parking. As we move to execute that policy, we will publish it on the Web site and mail a copy to each homeowner.

The problem with allowing parking on the street is a safety issue. With cars on both sides of the street, there is legitimate concern that emergency vehicles like fire trucks and ambulances can't get down the street easily. The streets were never designed for 4 cars abreast ( 2 parked, 2 passing each other). Every home has space for at least 4 vehicles - 2 in the gararge and 2 in the driveway.

An overflow parking area will be designated in an area where it does not present a safety issue.

This request for enforcement of the ban on overnight parking originated with community residents who repeatedly came to the BOD meetings for the past 6 months. Its not the Board just deciding things on htier own, its the Board responding to a community concern that was brought to the Board

Is there a way to have the comments in the suggestion box listed in date order from CURRENT to old. People may not use it because they 1st see very old comments and don't necessarily scroll down to see that there are some people who are using the comment box. Normally on something like this current is at the top!

At this point the board has authorized a security firm to make random checks during the night to tag cars parked in violation of the ban on overnight parking in the street. They are keeping a log of who they tag and when.
The intent is to identify habitual offenders. Once someone has been tagged a certain number of times (say, 3 or 4) the security firm will be authorized to call a tow truck for the repeat offender.
The board is in the process of firming up this policy.
Re overnight guests, place a note on the front dashboard "Overnight Visitor" . The security firm will be instructed to look for those notes and to include them in the log they are maintaining, so no action will be taken. The tags will still be monitored to keep anyone from abusing this privilege
There has been considerable pressure from the community to take the steps the board has taken. We have had very good voluntary compliance since we started enforcing the ban, and we thank the community for their assistance.

Where does everyone have their guest park when they are visiting? My sister was recently down for 2 days from Georgia and when she went to leave there was an Orange sticker on her car that did not just pull off, required a razor and some scratches. She clearly had a GA license plate, I'm not sure what the solution is, but I don't think it's leaving stickers on out of state guests. I'm curious where everyone parks who are visiting?

While that seems like a very logical, helpful idea, there are reasons why we cannot do that. If you post something negative about a contractor, that opens the possibility that the contractor would claim it is incorrect and sue you and us for defamation, loss of reputation, etc.
Even posting something positive has ramifications. Lets say you post something positive about a contractor and your neighbor hires him based on your recommendation. The contractor either performs shoddy work or has a dispute with that homeowner over quoted price. That opens the door to your neighbor to seek action against you for supplying bad information

Both situations are extreme, but unfortunately, that's the world we live in. Organizations like ours have to go to extremes to make sure we don't provide anything close to reasons for someone to sue us.

At the April BOD meeting, the Board discussed the possibility of a Spring Community Garage Sale. Typically we have our Social Committee coordinate this but we are currently without a Chairperson to do so. The Board will consider doing this directly and if it is a go, will include an announcement in the May mailing regarding the Annual Homeowners meeting.
